Out past Bulla, roofs on Wildwood farmhouses and rural homes cop open-country wind, hot summer sun and cold winter rain. We travel out to repair, repoint and repaint, and we always put a clear written quote in your hands before any work starts.

A farmhouse roof in Wildwood does a lot of work. There is little shelter in the country between Deep Creek and Emu Creek, so wind hits the roof side-on, dust settles in the valleys, and summer heat bakes the tiles day after day. Older homesteads may carry decades-old terracotta, while newer rural builds often have concrete tiles, with sheet metal over verandahs, carports and sheds.
When something goes wrong, the question is usually the same: is this a quick fix, or is the whole roof telling you it is time? We drive out to Wildwood, climb up and look properly. Then we sit down with you over the photos and explain it all simply, and we only recommend what we would do on our own place.

Wind is the main enemy out here. With paddocks running off in most directions, gusts get under tile edges and loosen ridge caps, especially where the bedding has dried out and shrunk away from the tiles. Each blow shifts things a little further until a cap sits crooked or a tile slides down and leaves a gap for rain.
Then there is the temperature swing. Baking afternoons followed by chilly nights make tiles and mortar expand and contract, opening fine cracks along every ridge line. Dust lifted off dry ground collects in valleys and gutters and turns to sludge in the first decent rain, so water has nowhere to go but sideways. On older homesteads, rusted flashings where later rooms were added to the original house are another common source of drips. None of this means the roof is finished, but small faults are best fixed before the next big storm rolls through.
Sound parts of the roof stay untouched; only genuine failures get our attention. On rural roofs that usually means a mix of the following:
Photos taken before and after mean you can check the result without climbing up yourself.
Nothing gets skipped on the day: tiles, ridges, hips, valleys, flashings and gutters, plus a shed or outbuilding roof if you would like that checked while we are on the property. Each problem is photographed. We then explain, in ordinary language, what needs doing now and what can safely wait until later in the year. A written quote follows with no padding and no vague allowances. The visit is free, and nobody will chase you with follow-up sales calls if you decide to hold off.
Wear that runs right across a roof is a different story, such as cracked pointing on nearly every ridge, plenty of brittle tiles and a surface that has lost its protection, one-off repairs stop being good value. You would be paying for a ladder and a long drive every season.
That is where restoring the lot pays for itself. Dust, lichen and grime come off first under pressure. Cracked tiles get changed, loose caps are reset and all the ridges repointed, valleys and flashings are put right, and finally sealer, primer and two coats of colour that suits the property are rolled or sprayed on. You get a roof ready for more years of sun and wind for a fraction of what re-roofing would cost.

Rural clients tend to like dealing with the person who actually does the work, and that is how we run things. Our owner has a solid 25-plus years in roofing and turns up on the property for each job himself, rather than sending strangers you will never hear from again.
We hold the right licence and insurance, check our own work before we call it done, and treat your place with respect, protecting gardens, paths and the driveway and leaving nothing behind but a sound roof. Every quote is written down, easy to follow and limited to what your roof needs. If a section of roof is still in decent nick, it stays off the quote. If you have a leak, storm damage or a roof that is simply worn out, call us on 0421 990 207 and we will head out to Wildwood for a look.
