Cement tiles are made from sand and cement, with a coloured surface coat. They are strong and long-lasting, but over decades they wear in a predictable way:

A cracked cement tile can let water through to the battens. We lift the surrounding tiles, remove the damaged one, and fit a matching tile so the roof interlocks properly again.
Common profiles are usually easy to source, and we can find salvaged tiles for older or rarer profiles.

When cement tiles become porous, they soak up water, hold moss, and look patchy. Replacing a few tiles does not fix the rest of the roof.
If the whole surface is worn, we will explain the option of cleaning, sealing, and coating as part of a cement tile roof restoration.

Ridge caps on cement tile roofs sit on sand and cement bedding that cracks as the roof moves. We rebed loose caps and repoint with flexible pointing, matched to your tile colour or a planned coating.

New cement tiles are often brighter than faded originals. To help them blend in, we can choose a tile that is closer to the weathered colour, or touch up replaced tiles with a matching coating.
If the roof is later restored, all tiles will be coated the same colour.

The cost depends on the number of tiles, ridge work, valley repairs, and access. We provide a fixed written quote after a free inspection.

Yes. We fit a matching tile so the roof interlocks properly.
They absorb water and grow moss because the surface has worn away.
We choose the closest match or touch them up with coating.
Yes, as the bedding and pointing crack over time.
If most tiles are porous and faded, restoration is worth considering.
